Ring in 2019 with Homestead Manor
On Dec. 31, Homestead Manor will welcome 2019 with plenty of good food and fanfare. The restaurant located inside the antebellum home on the multi-layer property in Thompson’s Station will host a special three-course dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients and produce right from the Homestead Manor backyard farm, followed by a celebration held in the concept’s rustic events barn.
New Year’s Eve dinner guests will be able to choose from several options of festive fare for each course, beginning with an appetizer selection of pumpkin bisque with spiced goat cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds and nutmeg; a charred scallop and tomato soup; grilled romaine Caesar salad; or bibb lettuce salad with pomegranate molasses vinaigrette, shaved radish and cucumbers, roasted butternut squash and feta cheese.
Main course offerings will include a creative take on a traditional New Year’s Day meal with a cornbread-crusted pork chop with Hoppin’ John and sweet and spicy collard greens; a sweet tea-brined fried chicken served with a sweet potato and apple waffle, cider green beans and smoked molasses; or smoked beef tenderloin with crispy red potatoes and roasted poblano bearnaise.
Decadently capping off the meal will be the dessert course, featuring a beer-battered apple fritter ice cream sandwich with smoked cider gastrique and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or crispy bacon and waffle bread pudding with maple crème anglaise.
Beginning at 8:30 p.m., Homestead Manor’s events barn will be transformed into a New Year’s Eve cocktail party full of sparkle and shine. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served as guests dance the night away to a local cover band’s rendition of popular tunes. Adding to the excitement will be a live broadcast of the ball drop in New York City’s iconic Times Square, marking the official start of 2019, accompanied by a complimentary Champagne toast for party guests. Those with dinner reservations at Homestead Manor that evening will enjoy free admission to the after-party.
