Good Wine, Good Food and a Good Cause
You don’t need a yet another reason to attend a wine festival, but we will give you one: Cool Springs Wines & Spirits presents the Franklin Wine Festival to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters supported by Nissan. The event is about to raise its glass and cheers to its 14th year and almost $2 million being raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The festival idea was born out of shop owners Jackie and James “Woody” Woodard wanting to find a way to support the community in Williamson County. The generous resources raised by the Franklin Wine Festival are used to foster the mentor relationships of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Their goal is to provide the children a long-term relationship that will encourage them to make good decisions in all avenues of their lives: educational, behavioral and social. Having a strong, trusting relationship builds self-esteem, allows for growth and provides confidence. To date, 1,267 children have been placed with a mentor through the benefits of the Franklin Wine Festival.
This year’s event is set to be held at The Factory on Oct. 12. In addition to Cool Springs Wines & Spirits providing and coordinating a delicious selection of wine for the festival, it will also be offering deep discounts on all of the wine you couldn’t get enough of at the festival. The sale begins the following day, Saturday, Oct. 13 and runs through Oct. 20. This means you can enjoy your evening focusing on the hundreds of wine options, mouthwatering food and the great cause, then load your car up the next week at the store with cases of your favorites from the festival.
