AmericanaFest and Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival highlight
National Americana Month

The month of September will be celebrated annually as National Americana Month with the city of Franklin leading the way. Last year the registrar of National Day Calendar selected Visit Franklin’s proposal to declare September as National Americana Month and communities across the nation are encouraged to join Franklin in celebrating all things Americana.

“With an incredible music scene, a Great American Main Street, and a community filled with amazing talent and character, Franklin, Tennessee perfectly embodies the spirit of Americana,” says Ellie Westman Chin, Visit Franklin President & CEO. “It is often hard to put into a single word what makes Franklin and communities like it around the country such beloved places, but Americana is that word. When you think of Americana, you are taken back to simpler time.”

Americana means different things to different people. To many it is a sound, to some, it is a story while to others Americana describes the feeling or vibe you experience that takes you back to the roots of your culture. In its inaugural year, Franklin will build a pilot branding campaign model to celebrate all things that are quintessentially Americana, which communities across the country can tailor to their unique local culture.

Franklin’s celebration will consist of several events, which can be viewed at The month-long celebration features a series of events such as Anthony Scarlati’s Portraits of Americana, Fork Fest in Leiper’s Fork, and Mantra Artisan Ale’s Block Party featuring their Americana brew, which all lead into the Americana Music Association’s annual Americana Music Festival and Conference.

AmericanaFest will bring together legendary artists, the next generation of rising stars, fans and industry professionals for six days of music and education with over 230 live performances in 40 different venues. The month-long celebration will close with Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival. Justin Timberlake will headline the multi-genre music festival that pairs national touring artists with the beautiful setting of Harlinsdale Farm, Franklin’s local culture, and a family-friendly environment.

Ramsey Solutions Breaks Ground for New Corporate Headquarters in Williamson County

Ramsey Solutions recently broke ground on its new corporate headquarters in a private ceremony that featured remarks from CEO Dave Ramsey and Governor Bill Haslam. Also in attendance were representatives from the City of Franklin, the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce, Gresham Smith & Partners, and Solomon Builders.

The new building, located in the Berry Farms development, will measure more than 223,000 square feet, and will include a coffee shop and bookstore for guests watching “The Dave Ramsey Show” live in the studio, as well as office space for more than 1,000 Ramsey Solutions team members. The anticipated move-in date for the new headquarters is August 2019.

Throughout 2017, Ramsey Solutions is celebrating its 25th anniversary of giving hope to millions of people and helping them with their lives and money through books, radio shows, live events, classes, coaching, and most recently, digital products.

“We are moving at the speed of cash,” Ramsey said. “Being debt free is not just something I talk about on the radio, and it’s not just for personal finance. Our company has always been debt free, and building a new campus will not change that. We are cash flowing the entire building process.”

Ramsey Solutions plans to add 175 team members in the next year. Half of the company’s current openings are in technology fields with many other opportunities including sales, marketing and administrative support. The City of Franklin and Williamson County have agreed to tax reductions for Ramsey Solutions contingent on jobs creation. To maintain the reductions, the company will hire nearly 400 team members by 2023 and again by 2028.

With more than 600 employees, Ramsey Solutions is committed to helping people regain control of their money, build wealth, grow their leadership skills and enhance their lives through personal development. The company’s success is defined by the number of people whose lives are changed by a message of hope. Through a variety of mediums including live events, publishing, syndicated columns, a nationally syndicated radio show, and digital products, Ramsey Solutions uses commonsense education to empower people to win at life and money.
